TLC Austin is the perfect place if you want a meal with some tender love and care! I’m not kidding when I say this is my new favorite place. Located on Lamar but tucked away on a little street makes it feel like it’s off in its own little town. The beach feel with contemporary detail on the building makes it seem like you’re at the beach right here in Austin TX! I’ll just say I was in love before we even got the food!
We started our meal out the right way with some dangerously delicious margaritas. I got mango and my mom got chambord and let me tell ya… after two you’re feelin pretty good! Then for our appetizers we order the charbroiled oysters and the mussels!
We decided to each pick an app so I went with the charbroiled oysters. It’s been a new thing for me but I’m a sucker for oysters done anyway. They were perfectly seasoned and broiled in a dreamy combination of butter to spiciness. Every bite lit up your entire mouth! My mom’s pick was the lemon garlic mussels. First off I wanna say they are the biggest mussels I’ve ever seen! Second, I’m going to have to attempt to recreate that lemon garlic butter sauce because we could have drinks it straight out of the pan. It always blows my mind when restaurants can successfully pack so much flavor in these small bites!
Now for the entrees! My mom’s choice was the lobster roll. When ordering this you get the option to get it served as a cold sandwich or warm with hot butter drizzled over the top! Of course the more butter the better so that’s what we went with! OH MY GOODNESS! The lobster with the butter literally melts in your mouth! The only thing we might change is a lesser toasted bun so the softness of the bread would match the smoothness of the lobster! But defiantly highly recommend! Now, on to my crazy order…
So, let me start with this place has an AMAZING boil selection! You pick whatever protein, seasoning, and sauce to create you’re own boil! The beauty of it is you can go small and just get something like shrimp and it’s so affordable! Or you can go big or go home and get shrimp and lobster like me! I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to have a whole lobster on my plate! Yes, I’m insane I know. Besides all that it was amazing! I went with half a pound of shrimp and the big ole lobster! My seasoning choice was cajun but the choices ranged from light you on fire to very very mild. Then I get the lemon butter sauce because that’s what was on the mussels and again… We could have just drank it. It’s defiantly an delicious experience!
All in all it was so amazing! If you want a fun yet still classy dining experience this is the perfect place! Or if you are just in the mood for seafood and drinks then order online and take it home! 100% will be back to TLC Austin!
